Day 17 Vercelli to Milan

One thing sums up cycling through Milan. Bloody cobbles. More like slabs actually. Sufficient to shake Frankie’s cycle computer off. Strangely nobody managed to run it over and he was able to recover it in working order.

This blog is taking a very long time to write because it is being constantly interrupted by Francesca serving me ever more courses of fantastic food. Her risotto was way better than last nights and that wasnt bad. If I can walk at all tomorrow never mind cycle I shall be doing well.

Cycling still flat today and will be tomorrow, but that will be the last of it. Not sorry in truth because theres only so long that paddy fields can hold your interest. Still hot and likely to remain so.

Hi again all. Mexican for us tonight. I hope you’re taking recipe notes for the risotto dishes. How’s Gary? Got him trained better in Italy? He’ll have a field day in Venice with all those canals. Paddy went for a ride on his mountain bike this evening – I guess he can’t be that saddle sore. I rode my whole mile to work, up the Col du Via Sud, across the plain of Vivary Park, then tackled the town centre traffic to get to County Hall. People at work are very interested in what I’ve been up to for the last fortnight, I enjoy telling them, they’re pretty impressed. Keep up the good work.
    See you soon,
    love from the Taunton Goodalls

Good for you! Very pleased to see your well on the way. Thought you would be loosing weight. I guess you need the carbs. A proper bed for the last 2 nights should have been nice. Decorating almost done,
not sure about everyone’s tempers. Cat(feline) has moved into the shed.Suspect that Father would too if possible.
Love to you all,yes we are proud of you!
